How Import Works
One-Click Google Connection
Connect your Google account via secure OAuth from the Integrations page. KnowThem requests
contacts.readonly permission — the minimum required to read your list. No write
access is ever requested.
Browse, Filter & Select
A paginated contact list loads with smart filters — show contacts with a phone number, email, or those already in KnowThem. Search by name, number, or email. Select exactly who to import; no forced bulk imports.
Automatic Duplicate Detection
KnowThem checks every contact against your existing people by phone number, email, and Google Contact ID before importing. Duplicates are highlighted and greyed out — you can't accidentally add someone twice.
Privacy-First, No Continuous Sync
KnowThem does not continuously watch or sync your Google Contacts. You control when to refresh the list. Once contacts are imported, they belong to your KnowThem account — not to a live Google Contacts feed. Disconnect at any time from the Integrations page.
